Dining In Night 2018

The Squadron and guests recently attended the annual Dining In Event. We were lucky enough to hold the event this year at Tankerlsey Monor hotel which is a 17th-century manor, which was an amazing space to spend our time together in. With almost 130 Squadron members and guests who came together to celebrate the events over the previous year and share a meal.

The night consisted of a three course meal with all the usual military traditions that we follow on such an evening. We were honoured this year to have a number of special guests, these included South and West Yorkshire Wing Commander, Wing Commander Brian Daniel, Barnsley Mayor, Mayor Jeffrey Ennis, Colonel George Kilburn MBE Deputy Lord Lieutenant and Miss Kerry Garner and Aircrew Paramedic Sammy Wills from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. We were thrilled to present the Yorkshire Air Ambulance with a cheque that represented the funds the Squadron has proudly raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance over the past year.

Once the meal and speeches were over all cadets and fellow guests were able to relax and have a dance at the disco. Even Aircrew Paramedic Sammy Wills joined us for a dance! It was great to all get together, dance to silly songs and generally have a great time and a laugh with each other.

Overall, the night was brilliantly set out and was a great time for cadets to sit down and have dinner together. Our dining in night, in my opinion, sets out any cadets who seek to join the RAF or any other military in a good place for when it comes to there formal dinner in there chosen force.
