Remembrance Day 2018

Today’s Armistice Day marks 100 years since the signing of the treaty which ended the battle on the Western Front of the First World War at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.

To mark this poignant day Cadets and Staff attended the annual parade in Barnsley Town Centre. The parade was made up of veterans, current serving personnel, reserve forces, cadet forces, St John Ambulance, Police, Scouting groups and many other organisations from across the Borough. A saluting dais was made up of the Deputy Lord Leuitenent for South Yorkshire (who took the salute) as well as the Mayor of Barnsley and many other dignitaries from within the community.

As always the Cadets were smart and professional and were a credit to the Squadron and themselves, well done to all.
